A-Z Character feature: Khal Drogo

If you're like me, then you'll love my A-Z Challenge / character feature for the  letter "K."  It's Khal Drogo from George R. R. Martin's riveting and New York Times bestselling A Song of Ice and Fire series.   I chose this character to feature since the Season 2 of HBO's Game of Thrones started up only a couple weeks ago.  The show is pure and raw awesomeness, just like Khal Drogo.  I love this character and this scene just blew me away.

What do you think?  Have you read the books?  Do you like Drogo in the book better or in the Game of Thrones?

intense...wow..he just called her 'moon of my life' how romantic is that? *almost fell off my chair.. :D Yep! That guy is INTENSE. I've had a chance to watch, but my kids are always hovering around.And with all that action, not easy. I'll have to get the DVDs I think.

Fantasic choice, Mina. :)
Oh I have the first book, I'm yet to read it.

Haven't read the books yet, but I love the show! And Khal Drogo? Definitely one of my favorite characters. His relationship with Dany is amazing...

At first I kind of hated him, but as the book progressed, he definitely grew on me! He was a really cool guy.

Loving the series, although he was much nicer in Stargate Atlantis (fewer beheadings).

I've read the book---and I found him a hell of character, and his teen wife even more so.

Hope you’re enjoying the challenge so far!

I haven't read the books but I saw the first series and I love how their relationship progressed.

Didn't hurt that he's pretty easy on the eye too :-)

Even before the video loaded, I knew which scene it would be. Khal Drogo is, as you said, pure and raw awesomeness.

I've read all the books and I have the first season on bluray, so, yeah, I like GoT. Drogo is one of my favorites. I like him more in the books because I think you get a little more time with him. I like Jorah, too. The whole Dani storyline is great.

I've heard so much about this!

Haven't read or scene it on the screen. But from all the hype, I'll definitely have to look into it ;)

A friend was just talking to me about Game of Thrones today and asked if I have seen the show or read the book, which I haven't. I noticed another blogger making a reference to the show earlier today, and now I'm reading about it here....hmmm...I might have to look into this!

Yep, it gets talked about a lot, and I am another one who has not seen or read it. I will try to do something about that!

Have read book one, which essentially is parallel to the first season. Have seen first 2 episodes of season 2.

Drogo grew on me too. And this scene is awesome.

@Lynn Proctor - I'm in the process of reading them now. Book 1 at least. I don't sleep much.

@Cecilia M. - 'moon of my life' *sigh* I agree and I'm on book 2 too.

@Jenn C - I agree. AMAZING!

@Alex J. Cavanaugh - I'll have to blog about the books.

@Danielle B. - The series is one of the best shows out there. Incredibly engaging.

@S. L. Hennessy - He's all man! LOL!

@mooderino - LOL. I didn't see that, but he is easy on the eyes.

@Damyanti - I agree. It's hard to believe she was so young, huh?
Hope you’re enjoying the challenge so far!

@Sarah Pearson -Me too.

@M.J. Fifield - Yes, he is!

@Misha Gericke - It's hard, but I'm trying too.

@Adrienne - I think you're right.

@Morgan - I'm on book 1 and it's soooo good!

@Cynthia - It's pretty intense, but the plot and characters are so intriguing, I think you'd like it.

@Nick Wilford - It's hard to keep up with the reading, huh? Too many books, so little time.

@tinkerbell the bipolar faerie Oh, that's good to know. I haven't finished the book yet. Thx.

I haven't read the books and I've only watched one episode (don't hate me!) but my boyfriend said he preferred this character in the TV series because he didn't say much in the books and so it was easier to pick up what type of character he was from seeing him on the screen. To me, it looks like his hair is too long and he could use a little less eye makeup!

I haven't read the books (yet!!), but I love the series. So I was SHOCKED by the end of season 1. I think Khal Drogo is a great character, plus I've always been a Jason Moma (SP?) fan. Can't wait to see what's still to come in season 2.
