I have to apologize for this week for no posts. Between renovating, house guests, internet connections and last but not least computer issues, I couldn't pull it together. Thankfully my computer issue will be resolved later today since I had to order a part. Anyway, here's a post I've been wanted to do for sometime. Luckily, the movie trailer released yesterday for the goth classic, Dark Shadows.
From the original to the updated version, what can we look forward to in the coming months with Tim Burton's remake of the unearthly soap classic, Dark Shadows. At first, all we had to go on were images alone. For those that have never seen the episodes of the original click here. Additionally, there was a TV movie remake in the 80's - which I posted last year here.
About the original story from Wikipedia
The beginning of the show introduces Victoria Winters (Alexandra Moltke) and the members of the Collins family, who reside on top of Widows’ Hill in a house called Collinwood in Collinsport, Maine. Victoria was orphaned, and she came to Collinwood in order to find out more about her eerie past. David Collins (David Henesy) would constantly tell Victoria of the ghosts he saw. Victoria also encountered the ghost of Josette Collins (Kathryn Leigh Scott) when she was looking through the closed-off west wing of Collinwood... (To read more visit Wikipedia)
Yesterday Warner Brothers released the website for the movie: http://www.darkshadowsmovie.com and...Apple has officially posted the trailer here if you're interested - http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/wb/darkshadows/
I wanted to post the clip here too since I'm such a fan of Burton. So...what do you think?

Like all Burton films, it looks quirky as hell!
OMG this looks SOOOOOOOOOO good!! I can't WAIT for Dark Shadows in May. I am a huge Tim Burton fan!!
PS, love the pic of Fred this week....so cute huddled under the bed LOL :)
I'll be interested to see what rotten tomatoes has to say when this comes out. I used to watch the tv show way back in the day when I was a kid (I don't think my parents knew...).
OMG I can not wait! I used to watch the original series with my Nana and it scared the bajeepers out of me! Tim Burton is doing Barnabas Collins justice!!
Crazy as that clip was it works for the movie fans who will watch it gleefully and Johnny Depp looks to be in fine form as a 21st century adaptatation of creepy Barnabas Collins, I am intrigued.
Fred you have the right idea, under the bed is a good place when Mom drags out the vampire stuff!

I'm a Burton-Depp fan, too. Can't wait to watch this! "We don't have horses, we have a Chevy. " Lol.
And Fred is soo cute. :)
Tim Burton is always unusual - for some reason I haven't heard of this though, so thanks for this.
Looking good there Fred! You are such a wise young pup!
Dark Shadows should be interesting to see how it turns out. Not sure from that trailer if it is scary or sort of funny.
I'll check out the trailer when my family's not watching TV in the same room. My mother used to watch Dark Shadows when I was supposed to be taking a nap. But I used to sneak down the hall and watch it from around the corner.
I don't remember a darn thing, but I remember being fascinated. (I wonder if the old show is available on Netflix ...)
*Waves at Fred*. Hi Fred :-)
Being a fan of Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, I'll be giving this one a go, although I didn't know it was a remake of anything!
@Alex - I love Tim's quirkiness too.
@LitBitch - I can't wait for May too! Fred sends a big hug your way.
@mshatch - I can only imagine what RT will say... :)
@Crederosa - I think so too. The 70's part is too classic too.
@Jackie - LOL, Jackie! Miss you. Hope all is well!!
@Cayce - That is a classic line, huh?
@Claire - I hope its a good one. Barnabas is such a classic. I'm sure Tim will do it justice.
@Carla - The trailer does seem more funny than anything else, huh? I wasn't expecting that.
@Dianne - That's funny. I think most of us had to sneak around when watching scary movies. LOL.
@Sarah - If you saw the orginal Dark Shadows it would probably put you to sleep. LOL!
I can't say I'm a fan of Tim Burton, but the trailers for Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, look interesting.
