Banned Books Week Hop

Hey, minions.  Happy Banned Books Week Hop!  I went rounds with my Free Sh** Fairy about which book to choose for this killer week.  Funny thing is, we usually give away banned books all the time on my blog so it's not like there's anything different going on here.
Anyway, we decided that we would let one winner choose.  I'm giving away one (1) copy of one of the books below to one (1) winner - winner's choice.

Who the hell even decides which books to ban? I mean, Breaking Dawn? Really? They let kids read The Catcher In The Rye in high school, but they ban the Cullens? I personally have more of a problem with prostitutes than vampires...

There will always be those who want to stifle a teen's imagination and their pursuit of understanding themselves and the larger world through books. I just don't get it.

To make matters worse, most of these adults who want to ban these books--think of the children!-- usually don't even take the time to read them.

I feel for the kids that have these kind of people as parents.

Not entering giveaway but wanted to thank you for your post.

The American Library Association website for banned/challenged books--short list for classics only--includes To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee; 1984, by George Orwell; A Farewell to Arms and For Whom the Bell Tolls, by Ernest Hemingway; Gone with the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell; and Sophie’s Choice, by William Styron. The first four were required reading in my school days.

A commenter on Murder She Writes, however, took me aback by mentioning the Bible, which of course is banned in some places.
