Rest in Peace Fred

It is with great sadness that I inform you all that Freddie, my faithful dog and beloved friend for the past sixteen years, passed away last Thursday night. Words cannot describe the hole I feel within my heart since he left us. This may sound strange to some of you, but Fred was truly a vital part of our family.  Since he was a puppy and well throughout his life, his happy-go-lucky personality and unconditional love were always there, offering our family (me, in particular) silent support. I suspect in the future there will be countless days where I will subconsciously call for him as if he's still alive. I always knew I was blessed to have a dog as wonderful as Fred, but now more than ever, I feel the blessing tenfold. To me, he will always be one of God's finest creatures.

Rest in peace Fred. We miss you dearly.

Fridays with Fred: July 4th

Hey, minions!  Did you know that Fred's birthday is July 4th?  It sure is!  I almost didn't do this post today because I was going to do a special birthday post on the 4th instead for Fred.  I decided against it because as much as we all love to celebrate Independence Day - Fred hates it.  Like most dogs, Fred's not a fan of fireworks so it's sort of difficult to party when he's in the corner or under the bed shivering.  Never fear, though.  We'll probably spend the weekend partying with doggie toys, carrot treats, greenies and possibly a small maple sausage.

Anyway, enjoy your long holiday weekend!  Oh and...Happy Birthday, Fred!  I love you!

July 4th Fred turns 11yrs old!
Check out some other silly shots of Fred here and here. Also, don't forget to check out Schatze over at Mary's (BookHounds).

Fridays with Fred: Happy Halloween

Happy Friday and…Happy Halloween. It’s time for Friday’s with Fred. And this year’s he’s all about playing his part. Take a look at my buddy. He’s the best.

Ahoy there!
And look…he has friends too!

Sophie & Darcy
Fred is a pirate…duh! Such a good sport too. Don’t worry. I gave him tons of treats. And his friends, those loveable Robin Hood bandits, Darcy and Sophie. Aren’t the great! And so purdy too! Thanks Carla.

Friday’s with Fred: Play Things

Hi! Happy Friday, everybody. Ready for the weekend? Halloween in just around the corner so I thought I’d share a few shots of Fred playing with a squeaky toy. He’s sure silly - my little JRT. Anyway, he has a bin full of toys and recently I pulled out his Halloween ones. He’s in heaven. Despite his age, Fred still acts like a puppy. Thankfully, I don’t think that will every go away. Enjoy these shots.

Wait for it....

Argh...

Yipee...
Remember, my Spooktacular Book Blog Hop starts Oct 25th.

Until next time…have fun this weekend.
