About Tom Riddle
Tom was a half-blooded wizard, who was born and raised in a Muggle Orphanage and then attended Howarts. Of course, he was sorted to the House of Slytherin which only made sense since he was heir to one of the founders of Hogwarts, Salazar Slytherin. Tom was an astute pupil and mastered wizardry like none other. Eventually, his true sadistic nature surfaced and then he turned to the Dark Arts which lead him to his Voldermort days.Source |
Why is Lord Voldermort a classic monster?
From Edward Hollet representing W H Smith: "If Voldemort ever encountered a boggart what would he see?" (Note: A boggart is an amortal shape-shifting non-being that takes on the form of the viewer's worst fear. )
J.K. Rowling's response: "The thing that Voldemort fears more than anything else is his own death. It its the quest of his life to cheat death, so we would have to see himself lying dead on the floor."
Would you consider Voldemort a classic monster? What other monsters where you thinking about?

I'm that oddball who has never read or seen Harry Potter, so...I don't know Voldemort. Heh.
Good One. Voldemort or He who must not be named is a great character!! I'm definitely a Potterhead!
Voldemort is a great V monster, and especially so since despite the fact he's evil through and through (which can be boring - imo)he's always fascinating.
Sh imagined a really creepy creature in him.
Dear old voldie! A monster of his own making (mostly).

Good choice, I would definitely call Voldemort a monster.
I just loved that he was sooo bad that he couldn't even be named!
Definitely a monster! I'm just reading the Harry Potter books to my youngest son, so have reacquainted myself with He-Shall-Not-be-Named.
