Lovely Awards & Fred the Bubbleblaster!

I was awarded with two blog awards recentely.  First, from the fabulous S. L. Hennessy and the other by stupendous Celia Robert.  These blogger babes are kick-a** writers AND some of the coolest peeps in the blogoshere.  Boy, do I feel pretty darn lucky.  Thanks guys!  If you haven't had a chance to visit these uber talented writer friends of mine, please do!

The 7x7 award is all about refeaturing/linking previous post I've written in the seven categories below. This is such a killer award. Thanks, S. L. Hennessy! And now for the lists!

Most Beautiful Piece: I couldn't find a beautiful piece, but I chose to feature my flash fiction posts about Hallucinating Housewives posts.

Most Helpful Piece: Monday's post/Bloggers Charging for Reviews

Most Popular Piece - Review of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

Most Controversial Piece: Is this bad, but I don't think I have one, but give me time!

Most Surprisingly Successful Piece: The Nether's Son

Most Underrated Piece: I'd say my most underrated posts have been my Creepy Classics posts. To be honest, I've sort of slacked off with my posting, which is so pathetic. I know. I'm sorry, damn it!

Most Pride-Worthy Piece: I'm stealing some of S.L. Hennessy's thunder here and agreeing that without a doubt my most pride-worthy posts were the A-Z Challenge posts. To blog almost everyday was an incredible challenge for me and I was damn proud not to miss one of them!

Fabulous Blog Ribbon!

Before I forget...thanks again Celia!. I'm gonna keep this award simple and focus on the things I like/love and dislike!

5 Things I love
- My family

- Hang at the beach with my kids

5 Thinks I dislike

Versatile Blogger Award

Great news, minions!  I received two (2) Versatile Blogger awards! Yipee! Jessica Therrien and Kristina Fugate issued my awards last week and I've just now gotten around to blogging about it!  I know…I’m such a slacker.
Anyway, the rules states, you must pick a few more bloggers to pass on the award.  And since I received this one twice, I’m going to consolidate the two.

And now for the Versatile Blogger chosen ones…

Things to share about myself.  Um….I think my blog is self explanatory but, maybe not.  So here we go!

- Classic literature, especially dark or Goth lit, fascinates me.
- I’m the ultimate idea generator & a true marketer
- Book addicition is a way of life for me…duh!
- I have yet to find a critique partner - not good.
- I have a Demon for a husband - 100% true.
- I have a "Free Sh**" Fairy.  Check out my latest FBC.
- I love historical romance.
- I have a propensity to give – too much and too often.

That’s it….and what about you?

Don't forget to:

1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them in your post.
2. List some things about yourself
3. Pass this Award along to blogs you admire.
Cheers,
Mina B.

Blogging Women’s April 2011 “Featured Blogs”

Great News!  I just found out I’ve been selected as one of Blogging Women’s April 2011 “Featured Blogs.”  Isn’t that awesome?  I’m so excited, I can’t stand it.  Why?  Well, for starters…I’m a woman and then of course I blog but…its waaaaay more than that.

For those that don’t know, Blogging Women is a free directory of blogs written by women. Manually edited and organized by category, Blogging Women aims to offer a comprehensive collection of the best spam free women's blogs online.  That’s what their blog says, but seriously folks - it’s even bigger than that.  Blogging Women has been around since 2008 and probably before most people began commenting on blogs.  Okay, now I know that’s an exaggeration but still…I think you get my point.

What I love most about this blog – besides the directory – is it promotes women.  So many times we sit in the confines of our homes, blogging relentlessly about a myriad of topics and sadly some of us are never recognized for our efforts.  Blogging Women takes the extra step to not only list a particular women-owned blog, but they actually take the time to connect with each of the owners.  It’s quite a large undertaking when you think about how many blogs they interact with.  I, for one, am in awe.

A little unknown fact about me is in my former life, I used to do a ton of marketing to women.  As someone that is fairly seasoned at it, I can tell you this…getting to the heart of women is not an easy task, yet Blogging Women seems to do it effortlessly.  I love this directory and am extremely proud to be highlighted this month.

If you have a blog and are a woman, then by all means, submit your blog.  If you are savvy enough, then you’ll not only comprehend the tangible marketing value of this, but also the understand the intangible value of associating yourself with an esteemed group of women bloggers!

Until next time…don't think, just submit.

My First Blog Award

I got my first ever blog award. Woohoo! *pops champagne cork*

It's called a "Great Blog Neighbor Award".  So here goes my acceptance speech...

*sniffle* I’d like to thank all my readers for making this possible.  My near empty bank account for all the books I’ve bought and read.  And of course…*sigh, wipes a tear*…my own personal writing is the real reason for this celebratory day.  I probably wouldn’t be here if I didn’t write.  But alas…I still read. (I won’t discuss the slight hair loss I acquired during writing and editing my own stuff.) Another big thank you goes to my Google followers; who apparently think more of me than Google does. (According to Google I’m ranked a whopping zero.  Hey, let’s stay positive, guys…at least I’m ranked.)  The point is…*mind wanders as to what I was saying…ah, yes*…the point is I’m honored.  THANK YOU, Missy from Missy's Reads and Reviews.

Rules:
1. Thank the person you received this award from.
2. Pass it one to 10 other bloggers.
3. Contact the bloggers to let them know about the award.

And now *drum roll*…It is my pleasure to announce ten, nine blogs I deem worthy of the aforementioned  award….

• Rex Robot Reviews
• BookHounds
• Forever Young (Adult)
• John Smith Books
• Reads, Reviews and Recommends
• Super Girl Reader Reviews
• The Book on the Hill
• The Romantic Type
• Insert My Title Here

If you can’t accept the award, I understand.  Just make a mental note that I thought enough of you to nominate you. That’s how much I heart you!  I guess the deal is you now will have to pass the award on. Whew! For me, this was pretty intense. A lot of accepting, passing, speech writing and blog posting.  But...I wouldn't change a thing.  Thanks, Missy!

Until next time…isn’t it nice to get recognized for something?
